Fever Pitch
As New cross Inn changes hands we gave it a send off with a valentines bash, playing the best songs that we’ve played there for the past couple of years, dancing to the worst songs we’ve played there since we all discovered how fashionable electro is and how by playing a bloc party song results in underage girls giving you a grind. After yet another number 9 meal we bid farewell to the place we all grew up.
Back to practice as practice makes better and Krakatoa composed their first song not written and arranged by Jacko, with creative input coming from Darien and Josh we put together a nice 2:40 piece that messes around with time signatures, it’s rewarding to be playing something technical with Josh as we spent 2 years of exploring time signatures and crazy riddims whilst being the core of a pit band for theatre shows, (a little insight into who we are – plus you will like us more now as you know we’ve got experience) The rest of the lads are playing an open mic night soon in Bromley so come back tomorrow for a brief summary, but now to the highlight of the week.
Krakatoa are in league 4 of the Bexleyheath 5 a side football at GOALS and we had our first match this week, Jack was drunk, Andrew looked cold, Jay was… Jay, smoking was part of my warm up and Darien turned up in jeans. Needless to say it was all pretty sketchy yet hilarious, the other team must of seen us taking a few practice shots as 20 minutes after kick off they still haven’t turned up.. GOALS has managed to get a rock and roll band together to wear shorts and promote exercise and the bastards who we’re supposed to be playing don’t even turn up, 3 points to us! and finally its obvious that this is the weekend to be leaving as we have friends going to Bosnia, France and Asia. Safe travelling to all of you, see you soon.
